B2B · AI · Founder brand

From a standing start to a 650K-view video in three months.

Ben Gusberg, co-founder of Cape, had real expertise and zero shortform presence. No audience, no backlog, no filming habit, and a calendar already full of running a company. Three months of the JOLT system later, his account had 11.4K followers, 155K likes, and a top video at 650,000 views, in a niche where founders get told their buyers are not on TikTok.

The challenge

Every excuse applied.

A technical product. So-called serious buyers. No time to film, no idea what to film, and an algorithm that had never heard of him. B2B founders hear the same advice everywhere: your customers are not on TikTok, go write LinkedIn posts instead.

The advice is wrong. His buyers are humans, and the humans are on the platform. They are just not searchable by job title. Reaching them takes an account the interest graph can classify and volume it can learn from. Ben had neither. Starting from zero, the account first had to teach TikTok who it was for.

  1. Aim before volume

Week one produced the unglamorous assets that make everything else work: a niche sentence naming who he sells to, a profile rebuilt like a landing page, and a voice profile pulled from how Ben actually talks in meetings, so scripts read like him instead of like a brand account.

His lead lane was The Standard: opinions, lessons, and takes from inside AI. It is the fastest authority-building lane for technical founders.

  2. A volume engine most founders never attempt

Three videos a day, every day, from one weekly filming block plus daily cutdowns. Scripting, editing, captions, and posting ran behind him. Ben's half of the operation stayed two verbs long: record and approve.

The 2-3-2 slate kept the mix honest at that scale: growth formats to find new viewers, authority formats to hold them, conversion formats to make the attention pay. Volume without the mix builds a popular account that sells nothing.

  3. Let the interest graph do the targeting

TikTok tests every video on strangers. At three posts a day, the algorithm got ninety tests a month to work out exactly which strangers, and it did. Within weeks the comments filled with the technical audience everyone said was not on the platform.

One week the account grew 268 percent. Momentum compounded from there, because every video teaches the platform a little more about who should see the next one.

The result

The company's warmest channel.

Eleven weeks in, the numbers said what the strategy predicted: 11.4K followers, 155K likes, and a top video at 650,000 views, all from a standing start.

The views are the surface. Underneath them, the account became the company's warmest top-of-funnel channel: inbound conversations from people who already know how Ben thinks, arriving pre-sold by ninety days of daily proof.

"The system works from absolute zero, for a B2B founder, in a niche where breakout reach supposedly does not happen."
